Little Vincent: “Ho…Hold on. I’ll call for someone, so…”

Text (Inside the Boxes, Jack’s Thoughts): ‘At this rate, Sablier falling into the Abyss-no-that is, granting Lacie’s wish, it won’t happen.’

SFX: *pi…pi…* -drip…drip…-

Jack: “……Alice…Alice, where are you…?” [Note: Not sure which Alice he is referring to here, perhaps to both? Though more likely Alyss, I think.]

Jack: “…Glen. How did you…end up in pieces like that… —-Did I do that? That’s right, because of me, you tried to kill Alyss. So, I used Oz’s power, I…”

Jack: “With these hands, I killed you, my dear friend. SFX: *fufu* -haha-“

SFX: *pi pi* -drip, drip- *don* -bang- *za za za za* -running-

Little Vincent: “Gil!?”

Barma (Reading from Arthur’s Notes): “And like this, Sablier disappeared from this world, and in exchange was dropped down into the Abyss.”

Barma (Reading from Arthur’s Notes): “With the exception of just one person, Jack Vessalius.”

Barma (Reading from Arthur’s Notes): “…After he was protected as Sablier’s survivor, Jack Vessalius took immediate action. He spread the rumor that the Baskervilles were the ringleaders of the Tragedy of Sablier, stole the four keys to the ‘Door’s’ of the Abyss and from that established the Abyss research institute, ‘Pandora.’ And then were born the ‘Four Great Dukedoms’ to command that organization.”

Barma (Reading from Arthur’s Notes): The Four Great Dukedoms, in general, established their positions as the ones who ‘along with the hero routed out the traitor who took advantage of the previous tragedy and planned on overthrowing the nation.’”

SFX: *saaa…* -pouring rain-

Someone: “……Why? …Why did Jack, excluding the Vessalius’, choose those three households for the Four Great Dukedoms? Particularly the Nightrays, who were said to be a household with deep friendly relations with the Baskervilles.”

Barma: “That’s exactly the reason. So that he could understand the enemy’s actions. Jack Vessalius was conscious [of the fact that] the arrangement of his prominent position was due to the foundation of the Baskervilles. Besides, the Nightrays did not want their useless power to further push the stigma of the Betrayal Duke. They were carefully given the Door, in which the qualifications for Raven’s contractor were already snatched away. SFX (Written Text): *kuku…* -giggle…-“

Barma (Written Text): “All the same, it could not have been known that Gil, who held the qualifications, would do that for the Nightrays.”

Barma: “As for the Rainsworths…………That house was the sole one out of the Four Great Dukedoms that held no connection to tragedy 100 years ago. Perhaps, in order to silence the country’s fears of the monopolization of the power of the Abyss, the Rainsworth’s, which have noble family blood running through them, was invited in. And, if you think about the flow of things up until now, the Barmas being chosen as a Four Great Dukedom was inevitable. To that man, Jack, Arthur Barma was his ideal arms and legs.  [Note: The Japanese literally says ‘hands and feet.’]

Barma: “Arthur adored his friend, who returned as a hero, more and more. He begins work on producing the memorandum of that guy, Jack’s, every word, and he, together with alchemists, were given down orders to seal that “self-consciousness” that comes with Glen’s corpse. But, there came a time when Arthur was forced to notice the distortion that man wore.”

Jack (Flasback): ‘Won’t you erase me from this world, Arthur? Or rather…to be exact, “could you leave me for dead,”…I wonder?’
